Airport Berlin

Starting from airport Berlin on the A9 motorway to the south (direction Munich) up to the Hermsdorfer
Kreuz. Here you have to change the motorway, follow the A4 motorway westward (direction Frankfurt) and leave it at the exit Jena-Göschwitz, further see instructions for arriving with car.

Airport Leipzig/ Halle

Starting from airport Leipzig/ Halle on the A9 motorway to the south (direction Munich) up to the Hermsdorfer Kreuz. Here you have to change the motorway, follow the A4 motorway westward (direction Frankfurt) and leave it at the exit Jena-Göschwitz, further see instructions for arriving with car.

Airport Frankfurt

Starting from airport Frankfurt on the A5 motorway (direction Hannover/Westkreuz). The A5 motorway automatically merges with the A7. Continue on the A7 and then take the exit “Berlin/Dresden/Erfurt/Bad Hersfeld/A4” to follow the A4 to Jena. Leave it at the exit Jena-Göschwitz, further see instructions for arriving with car.

Airport Munich

Starting from airport Munich on the A9 motorway to the north (direction Berlin/Dresden/Bayreuth) up to the Hermsdorfer Kreuz. Here you have to change the motorway, follow the A4 motorway westward (direction Frankfurt) and leave it at the exit Jena-Göschwitz, further see instructions for arriving with car.

How to reach us

by car

From the north (Berlin) or south (Munich), take the A9 motorway to Hermsdorfer Kreuz, then the A4 motorway in the direction of Erfurt – Frankfurt/Main.

Leave the A4 motorway at the exit Jena-Göschwitz, follow the federal highway B 88 into town (Zentrum) on Rudolstädter Strasse.

After ca. 5 km, go left on Winzerlaer Straße (there is a traffic light). Follow this road and the signs to “Beutenberg Campus”.

Turn left onto Hans-Knöll-Strasse, the campus site north. The Abbe-Zentrum Beutenberg is the brown building on the left site. 

How to reach us

by train and city bus

If you take the route from north (Berlin), south (Munich) or east (Dresden) you will arrive at the station Jena-Paradies. Please go to the bus stop on Teichgraben (5 minutes into the city) and take the bus number 10, 11, or 12 (direction Beutenberg, Ammerbach, Burgaupark). Step off the bus at “Beutenberg Campus” and turn right on Hans-Knöll-Strasse and walk uphill to the Abbe-Zentrum Beutenberg (see map of Beutenberg-Campus above).

If you take the route from west (Frankfurt/Main), leave the train at Jena-Westbahnhof. You have to change for Jena in either Weimar or Erfurt. Leave the station via the stairs to the underpass. Then walk ca. 3 minutes down Westbahnhofstrasse until the end, then turn left and pass under the bridge; cross the street to the bus stop Westbahnhofstrasse and take the bus number 10, 11, or 12 (direction Beutenberg, Ammerbach, Burgaupark) and follow the directions above.

How to reach us

by coach

Next to the train station “Jena Paradies” is also Jena’s bus station. Get off there if you are traveling by coach. Further see instructions for arriving by train and city bus.
